Hello folks. While doing my small bit-of allotted websurfing, I came across a few news articles regarding a new kid's book that struck a cord with me. Its a children's picture book called 'Maggie Goes on A Diet', by Paul Kramer. I've not read the book myself, but I've found a few synopsis of it. Essentially its about a 14 year old girl named Maggie who's bullied by the kids at her school, because she's chubby. She turns to food to feel better, but that makes it worse. She decides to change her eating habits, start exercising, and soon she loses the weight. She eventually makes friends, boy start to think she's pretty, and she even joins the school soccer team and gains 'popularity and fame'.
Now, I've read a few articles, but the main one you can check out is here, at ABCNews's website. Anyway, I was surprised by some of the supposed reactions a lot of parents and others are taking to this book. They think that its encouraging kids (the targeted ages are 6-10) to focus only on the outer appearance rather than inner beauty, and that it'll cause little kids to develop eating disorders. Honestly, while I do understand the concerns of these people, I personally find them unfounded.
Hear me out now. I have a few reasons to say this. One is that in each synopsis of the book, I find nothing that implies that Maggie starves herself, or purges her body, or eats only a select and small amount of food each day and then forces herself to withstand time without such things. Or even that she takes over-the-counter medicines to lose the weight. It states that she 'eats right and exercises'. These are actually GOOD things for people to do. Especially in an age where most people leave heavily sedentary lives. This isn't an encouragement to starve yourself. Its an encouragement to eat the proper amounts of fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy, and grains, as well as being active and healthy and, yes, doing a little extra exercise rather than sitting around. Maggie even joins a sports team- a wonderful way to stay active and healthy. How is this a bad message?
My second reason is that, while Maggie is made fun of for being heavy, this is a part of how kids are. We as a society are conditioned to ridicule and make fun of anything or isolate anyone who we perceive as different or strange. I know this well. I was exactly like Maggie until 2 years ago. While it is true that teasing and suffering from ridicule for being overweight does cause some people to develop eating disorders, that's not the only contributing factor. If a child is reminded that while being healthy is good, that they're still special and loved no matter what they look like, it greatly lowers such chances. The truth is there are a lot more people who develop eating disorders that aren't teased or treated like they're different. Most people with these disorders have always been 'thin', and something or some situation (sometimes something very traumatizing or that has caused them distress and a sense of losing control in their life) pushes them in to the first stages of disorders. Anyway, my point is, kids will be kids. They pick on the kid with glasses, or bucked teeth, or has too many freckles, or SOMETHING they think is weird, or different, or not 'normal', and they're gonna pick on them. Sometimes the only thing to do about it is encourage your child to speak up to a teacher or an adult who can help about it, or to go to the parents of the bullies, and tell them what their child's words are doing, and let those parents deal with teaching their children to respect and show acceptance to everyone.
My third is that these people are forgetting that obesity and over-eating are disorders and diseases in of themselves. True, we should teach our kids that 'everyone is beautiful', and all, but let's face it. America is still one of the most unhealthy countries in the world. The MAJORITY of our populace is overweight. And many of that includes our children. To try and cope with this, instead of facing realities and being healthier, we've increased the standards of weight and caloric intakes to be things that are much higher than a person actually needs. Its a way to cope with the idea, and some are happier to live with their heads in the sand and pretend either that being unhealthily overweight is normal, or that the world is blind and that we can look however we want as long as we're happy with ourselves the way we are.
Some may ask, 'Well, then, why do we glorify models and movie-stars who are thin and pretty?'. Because we as a society like the idea of the unattainable 'perfection'. Its a strange form of hypocrisy really, but it is something that has been around for ages. A standard of 'beauty' is set that is so impossible (or seemingly impossible) that no matter what one does, we won't obtain absolute perfection. I mean, look at the corset of old. Women wore those constantly, every day, tightened as much as possible, until they had their bones and organs re-arranged to gross and unnatural proportions. Yet men found women with extremely tiny waists like that attractive.
Moving on, the writer of the book has made it clear he did NOT mean for this work to make little kids think less of themselves or think that they'll be better and that they need to be skinny to be happy. In fact, he says, quote - "Maggie is accepting that kids are mean and kids can be mean and she has decided to do something about it, to take things in her own hands, try to change her own life, try to make herself healthy by exercising. She does want to look better. She does want to feel better and she does not want to be teased." From what I've seen of the synopsis and the preview-pictures of the book, it sends a good message. It targets something everyone can identify with, and brings up an issue that needs to be discussed. It hopefully, in my opinion, will make parents think about the message they send to their children, as well, and wonder about being healthy, too, so their children will learn healthy habits, as well.
So, there's my spiel. If you want to read more, check out the ABCNews article, and look for the book when it officially hits shelves. Like it? Hate it? Think the message is good or bad? Form your own opinion. I'd happily get this book for any young kids in my life, and when I'm a parent someday, I intend to teach my children the importance of being healthy, eating right, and having an active life. I don't need this book, though, to do that, if I am honest. I can tell them MY story. Its almost the same thing, anyway (XD).
That's my official monthly post. Tune in soon, folks, for more!

Decisions
After careful consideration, and planning, and choices made among the many things that have brought me to my last post's conclusions, I've finally paired everything down. I've turned this in to two lists: Things I Am Cutting Down (Or Back) On, and Things I Will Strive To Bring Back to Priority.
Cut-downs (outs):
1. Procrastination. I will not put off today what I can do tomorrow. If I can do it today, I'll get it done today, so that I can do something more important tomorrow.
2. Mucking around online. This means Facebook is relegated to 2 days each week. I'm considering freezing my WoW account until I have time again to play it. One day only for web shows and the reading of various web comics. ONLY ONE.
3. Watching garbage I'm not really in to on TV. I only have a few shows on the tube that I actually watch each week, and rather than turning the TV to some channel for the background noise, I'm going to start turning the stupid thing off, unless a new (and only new) episode of a favorite show is on.
4. Club meetings. While I'll always be a cosplayer and anime fangirl, I don't technically attend the college anymore. I'm a graduate. I will appear at one, or two, possibly three meetings of each club I've been a part of, and only that many, for the entire semester. Only 2 meetings are priorities: The first days, and the meetings before Anime Weekend.
5. Side trips/odd trips. If I need something from the store and it can wait for another day (such as running out of something that can be substituted with something else I have on hand), I won't go dashing to the car to go to the store. I'll wait until my actual grocery day, and pick up a week's worth of items then. And I won't let others badger me in to going to stores or other places just to socialize unless I actually need to purchase something at said store.
Re-instated Priorities
1. Housework. A clean house is a happy house. Nasty carpets, piled up dirty laundry, overflowing garbage, etc. are nasty things. No one likes them. I won't let my house get in to such a state again. I will clean when something is dirty, when something is full, I'll empty it.
2. Work. Due to the con season being around, and my need to earn money for a possible move in the future, I need to work. Therefore, if a work posting is up that I can take, I will take it, asap, no ifs ands or buts.
3. Better eating. Now, I grant you, I've done my best with my eating habits, but I see now that I need to step it up. Or rather, take things back. Healthier foods, more clean eating (possibly even getting down to just clean foods), and even less processed garbage.
4. Roleplays. I know, this may sound strange to some, but I've been involved in some roleplays, including one that has brought me endless wonderful friendships and taught me valuable lessons in my own real life, for years. And I don't want to neglect either my friends (in character and out) that I've made through them, or the characters I've worked so hard to build up. I will strive to return to these roleplays I've enjoyed so much, and not let other things get in the way again.
5. Original art. I've been swept up in to fan art far too much lately. I need to return to the original art (baring exceptions for the monthly challenge I'm in with my roleplay group, as that's fanart of my friends' characters, as well as my original characters') that has gotten me to progress artistically. I will dedicate at least one day to art.
6. Blogging. Yes, that means I'm not getting rid of the blog. I simply need to bring it back. This means, I will work to do at least one blog entry per month, pertaining to something involving fitness, weightloss, healthy eating, or being a fangirl. Or all of the above.
So, that's it. With better time management and more self discipline and control on my part, hopefully, I can stop being this person who I don't know and isn't rational or smart, and be the reasonable, intelligent, and dedicated person I normally am.
TTFN my friends.
Absences, Apologies, and a Realization of One's Limitations
Obviously, I've been gone for an extremely long time. Well, I'm back, and I'm back to discuss some things and let everyone know what's going on, as well as to make apologies to everyone, for various reasons. Hence the title.
First, my absence from the blog. That has been because of various IRL distractions, issues, and events that have taken a higher precedence, including a progression in my weightloss, due to a plateau I hit a few months back.
I was no longer losing weight, and was 25 pounds from my goal weight. My doctor as a result has placed me back on 2 months worth of appetite suppressants, to assist me in losing those final pounds and to help me get to where he can get me a consultation for skin-removal.
Second, I've been trying to get myself in to Brenau University. I was unable to get in due to a large lack in funds, that couldn't be overcome even with the assistance of financial aid and scholarships. As it is, I may have to move to another county in order to continue my education. We'll see how things go.
Third, in an incident I won't go in to detail with, I will say this: I made a very, very terrible decision, and regret it. Deeply. These three things have made me come to a very strong conclusion.
I need to pair down some things.
There are only a few things I refuse to give up. And some I can't because of my health. I'll think over what is the most intensive in my life, and will need to take a severe back-burner from now on, and what needs to be dropped all together. This also includes whether I should or shouldn't continue this blog.
I'll let everyone know in a future post what I'm going to do. Don't worry, this post won't take months to decide on.
Until next we meet.

Fit Point! New Endeavors
Hello! I promised I'd be more up to date, and therefore I'll begin with writing on this month's Fit Point. The topic is New Endeavors. Essentially, we're talking about what new things we're doing to shake up our routines. I've gotten started already, by adding in swimming, now that spring has come around.
Swimming is a fantastic cardio burn. Whatever you're doing, back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly, kicking, frog or dog paddle? Can't go wrong with pushing against the resistance of the water and pulling your whole body (or propelling it) forward. I personally LOVE swimming. I think if I'd been more adamant about being fit, I would have found a way to join a team. Then again my schools didn't have swim teams (booo underfunded schools in the south). But I adore it. I love the feeling of just going through the water, of feeling weightless! I love it. I've been incorporating it in even now during my school's Spring Break. 3 days of swimming, followed by more intense P90X action.
Anyway, soon I'll also be doing my 3rd round of P90X, but it'll be Doubles instead of Classic. I'm looking forward to it as well as swimming along side it. I'd like to look into more Clean Eating, as well, pointed out to me by my dear dear friend Bry, of course. Clean eating is low-cal, as well as cleansing for the body! I'm especially a fan of The Gracious Pantry. The recipes on this site are fabulous, and I'll tell you, nothing is yummier than the Crunchy Nut Crusted Chicken! Its even better than the version of baked chicken I used to make. I'll never go back.
That's my plans for now, diet and exercise wise. I'm very happy, and feeling great! I'll write again when I finish Round 2 of the X and share with you loverly people my m
ost recent measurements, with accompanying photos!

Updates, and Convention Prep!
Hello everyone! I'm so so sorry I haven't posted in ages! (I even missed the FitPoint!! v.v). I'll make up for it. Don't worry! In fact I'll begin with a weight update. I currently weigh 195 pounds (YAY! Finally losing again! Take that plateau!). Just 20 pounds left.
Next, my main topic. Now, for the fangirl/boy, cons are a part of our main events. This weekend in my neck of the woods, the free convention, MomoCon, is coming up, and each year I go to Anime Weekend Atlanta. There's conventions for scifi, anime, games, and comics everywhere, though! That thought, plus the topic of one of my college's Cosplay Club meetings, has inspired me to write up an article about proper preparation for a convention.
Sometimes, one has two options, depending on their financial circumstances. One is, should the con be a a venue that will cover more than a single day, staying at a local hotel, and attending there. The other, for one day events or for those unable to pay for a hotel room is to go down on a single day. Some of these tips are good for either situation, but both merit their own list of things to bring. And yes, this fits in with weightloss because A; you need to be able to keep yourself healthy during the convention, and B; just walking around these places is a big cardio blast, so unless you intend on just staying in a video viewing room the whole time, you're gonna be moving and burning calories. Now, on to the tips!
For Those Staying Overnight:
Now, these are rules for over-night con-goers. What about those of you going for just a single day? Well, I've got some tips for you guys too.
And these last are needed for both. There may be reiteration, I fear.
And that's it for now, guys. Feel free to share anything else you think is necessary for a con, or if you've got a funny con story that involves something unfortunate happening because you forgot something/left something/saw someone who did, or if you remembered and got a confirmation of why you're glad you brought it along, then feel free to tell me in the comments! I'd love to hear them. ^.^ See you next time, with March's FitPoint!

Now, on to the tips!
For Those Staying Overnight:
- Packing the essentials: So many people are amped up for cons that they will sometimes forget to bring everything that they need. This is why it is important to take the night (or two nights) before you leave for your hotel and pack everything you actually need. Don't think of extra stuff you may not need, think about the essentials first and have those packed! What are the essentials for a con? REMEMBER THIS LIST!; Underwear (4 minimum); Socks (4 pairs), 2-3 Sleeping/pajama shirts. 2-3 Pajama pants/sleeping pants. Comfortable shoes, 2 pairs of jeans, and 2 regular t-shirts. These are musts for everyone. This way, if your clothes get dirty or you need to change (which we STRONGLY ask you do) for the next day, then you'll have something fresh to put on. Underwear is especially important! We've all seen/heard of the girl or guy who didn't pack enough and one day went commando.... That's not pleasant, especially if the girl wears a skirt and we see EVERYTHING! Don't flash us! Wear panties! Same with (for girls) bras. Pleas please wear a bra! Even though its a convention, proper support is important. Anyway, these are just clothes.
- Bathing And Cleaning Products: Why is this here? Because we've seen too often people who have the 'Con Funk'. Meaning they STINK because they either didn't bathe, or just aren't wearing anything to cover up their B-O. People, PLEASE BATHE AT CONS! Therefore this list is imperative for anyone attending a con. Your fellow fans will thank you, and so will your roommates if you're sharing a hotel room; Deodorant, SOAP!! (Bathwash, a bar of soap, SOMETHING that foams into bubbles and CLEANS YOUR BODY!), Shampoo/creamrinse (guys seriously wash your hair, too! Especially if you use gel), shaving gel/foam, razor, contact lenses and cleaner, and toothbrush and toothpaste (dental hygiene is healthy too. Especially if you get stinky breath). Never go away for any overnight venture, especially a convention, without these. This way you'll have fun and come back home smelling like roses
- This is just for girls. Ladies, if you're either on the pill or on your period, please, don't forget to bring ample tampons/pads and your birth control. Not saying you'll get laid in regards to the birth control, but with these items you'll be able to keep from embarassing things, such as a spot on your pants or a seat, or leaving a mess in your hotel bed. The pills will help you stay on track with your medication, and besides, who wants to forget that important pill if they're at a con with their boyfriend? Its important. Take your private items, girls.
- Cosplay Essentials: For those of you who cosplay and intend to go to your local con, don't forget your costumes. After you've packed up your bath products and ordinary clothing mentioned above, pack your costumes. If you've something like, say, Keichi from Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni, then fold the outfit as you would your street clothes, and pack accordingly (Same goes for the shoes). As for an outfit that can't be folded, like say, Princess Euphemia from Code Geass, then make sure your outfit is placed inside a garment bag, and hung carefully where you won't leave it behind. (Also, whatever you are wearing, TAKE APPROPRIATE UNDERGARMENTS! No girl wants her skirt flying up and people seeing a thong under a big flouncy skirt). If you have a wig, make sure it is securely on a wighead or other wig-holding type display thing for the trip, and bring your styling products (gels, cold irons, etc).
- Food and Medicines: For dieting con-goers (or anyone on a budget and unable to eat out), bringing your own food is a good way to avoid temptations from food courts and restaurants. I pack Special K cereal, meal bars, and snack bars so that when I get started, my day begins right, and I keep track. Now, sometimes, you will end up eating out (I did with the Anime Club at AWA). When that happens, make sure to look for places that serve healthy options, and make sure to stick to small portions. Do research if you can to see the calories in certain stands or restaurant's menus. Then at the end of they day you can also end the con with a good meal that won't break your diet (and keep you from ordering out!). Medicines are important to health at a con too. If you get allergies, or if someone else ends up becoming sick, you don't want the Con Crud! So bring any allergy/cold and cough medicine you use on a regular basis, as well as Vitamin C or some Airborne to avoid catching something. Always wash your hands, too!
- Electronics: Everyone carries a phone, a camera, an MP3 player, or some combination of the three these days. Whatever you're bringing, these points are important to remember. First, BRING THE CHARGER! Whatever the destination, many people have ended up forgetting their charger, and something like their phone or mp3 has died on them. Some people use these for the alarms. If you don't want to end up oversleeping or missing an important call, then please bring the charger! To keep these items safe, either keep them in a pack at all times, on your person in a pocket you can keep an eye on, or (like say a video camera for video blogs and things or a laptop) hide them deep in your luggage, so that either crooked cleaning staff (not all maids steal, but some do. It happens) or a somehow lucky robber won't be able to take them.
Now, these are rules for over-night con-goers. What about those of you going for just a single day? Well, I've got some tips for you guys too.
- Bathe the night before, or early EARLY the day you go. Remember, stinkiness at a con will increase as the day passes by.
- Pack a messenger bag or fanny pack the night before. This is especially important if you have a costume planned. If they can get away with a fanny pack, or a certain type of backpack/bag, make sure you've got it and pack it before you even think of getting ready. That way you'll be able to carry a wallet, or anything else you need that day, and not get robbed (there are pickpockets out there, guys, its just a safety measure). Fanny packs are best because you can put them at your side or front, won't impede your costume too much, and you'll be able get at your money or whathaveyou quickly, as well as make it harder for someone to pick your pocket.
- SLEEP! Sleep the night before will be a HUGE help. Especially if you're getting up super early to go to the con. You'll be able to actually get up and remember all the things you need!
- Dress accordingly. If you're going in a costume, follow the rule above for wearing the right undergarments and to bring a little light towel if you get hot in it, like if you're in the gown or a full tux or trenchcoat. If you're going in warm weather, try to plan a warm-weather costume, like perhaps Shinji from Evangelian. Its short sleeves and breathable school-trousers, plus sneakers. Not too heavy or sweat-producing. And don't forget to wear comfy shoes! If you can wear sneakers or flipflops, awesome! Otherwise, put a pair of Spare Flats from the grocery store (flat shoes made of cloth or with some special cushioning in them) in your dress shoes and boots so you can walk comfortably.
- Snacks/Meals: If you're going for just the day, eat a healthy breakfast before you go. Cereal, oatmeal, protein packed eggs, whatever gives you energy to face the day. Then pack in your bag (whatever it may be) snack and meal bars or granola bars so that you won't be persuaded to get junk food.
And these last are needed for both. There may be reiteration, I fear.
- Water. Water no matter how long you go or when you'll be attending is ALWAYS IMPORTANT! Not only is it better than sodas or sugary juices, it'll keep you hydrated and help prolong how long you go between meals. Trust me, you will get thirsty. Having water will help you out.
- Be punctual. If you're leaving at a certain time, prepare to leave THEN and no later, if it can be helped. If you're meeting friends, then pick a place to meet, and do not miss them. Get to your meeting place on time! If you will be late, try to give someone a call to let them know.
- Emergancy contacts. If you're going with a group, or with your folks, overnight or for a day, make sure to have at least 2 numbers in your phone so you can keep in contact with folks. This way if you end up separated from your group, or you get lost, or if you've gone off on your own, or if something happens, you can get in touch with everyone. And make sure people have YOUR number, so they can keep an eye on you. Again, another safety precaution, but necessary.
- Sunscreen. Really, if you're going outside for a photoshoot (as part of the picture or if you're taking pictures), or if your con has a huge outside venue, it is good to wear a sunscreen that will keep you from turning into a lobster. This is most important in Summer, but some winter cons require them too. Take care of your skin, people!

2010 Year End Update!
Hello friends! Its time for my year-end updates, the resolution for the New Year, and just basic overview of things to remember year after year. First, the update.
As you all recall, I started on P90X back in September. I'm happy to say that now, on day 90, the last day, I have come quite a long way. Let's compare.
Day 1
Bust: 43 inch
L-arm: 15 inch
R-arm: 14.5 inch
Waist: 41.5 inch
Hips: 50 inch
L-leg: 23 inch
R-leg: 23.5 inch
Day 90
Bust: 43 inch
L-arm: 13 inch
R-arm: 13.25 inch
Waist: 38.75 inch
Hips: 48.5
L-leg: 24 inch
R-leg: 24.5 inch
As you can see, while my bust has remained the same, my arms have decreased by 2 and a quarter inches (combined). That doesn't mean necessarily that I've lost anything in them. It means, for me, that the muscles in my arms have grown, and the excess skin in my arms has tightened around that muscle. My waist and my hips have lost a total of 4.25 inches total!! I was wearins 16's at the beginning of this, and now, I can get into 14's ^.^ As for my legs, notice, they've gotten bigger. That's not from fat. Its from MUSCLE. My leg muscles have gotten bigger, therefore, they're an inch bigger, which is just fine with me, cause though the muscles are bigger, there's less excess skin. Meaning, they actually look smaller XD or at least that's what people tell me, haha.
Now, the weight.... *drum roll*.......... 198!! With this combined with a little holiday eating (not much, an extra slice of cake or two, honestly and less activity due to no school), I've managed to maintain (I was 198.4 last month). Still, since the beginning, I've lost eight pounds, which, given my current metabolic rate and all I've lost on the whole, is an amazing thing! This means, folks, I've officially lost 202 pounds since I started two years ago. TWO YEARS. And I've lost the mass of A GROWN MAN! Here's a comparison photo to help you see the results.

Is that not an amazing transformation? Over 200 pounds and 19 inches of hair, in comparison between who and what I was in December of 2008, and who I am in 2010. I feel better, and yes (vanity, you rear your head) I look good! I don't hide myself anymore. I am not ashamed of myself physically. Everything has changed. And there are so many people who have helped me get to this. My friends at school (I love you guys!) who encourage me every time they see me, and who help me lose more in awesome fun-time activities (Cosplay is fantastic at losing weight, folks!). My wonderful friend Bry from Embracefire Fitness because she's given me encouragement, helped me adjust diet and exercise due to time or money constraints, and been an ear to lend at both my highest points and at my lowest and darkest moments. Bry, you remain one of my biggest motivations and inspirations, and one of my most cherished friends. And then of course, there's the motivation I get from Mr. Tony Horton, via his videos. And while he may never read this blog, I've got a message: I LOVE YOU MAN!! I CAN DO PULL UPS CAUSE OF YOU!!!
Anyway, moving on. Somethings to remember during the holiday season. Losing or maintaining weight is difficult during this time. Typically people gain up to 6 pounds during the season, because of gatherings, slightly less activity, and of course because of the food and the drinks served at parties and dinners. I know. I'm tempted by the allure of cake and cookies heavily this time of year (Darn you cake! Why do you taste so good!?). Therefore, here's some tips to help yourself stay healthier while making merry.
One: Try to avoid the alcohol. If you're of legal age to drink, a lot of calories come from liquor and other alcoholic drinks, either straight up or mixed together in cocktails. Try to steer clear of these and you'll cut out lots of empty calories. Besides being a healthy choice in terms of weight, it also helps avoid accidents on the road and having bad ideas (NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE!). If you do have a little nip, just have ONE. One's all you need. Drink and wassail responsibly, guys. I'm being serious.
Two: Fill up on fruits and veggies. They're low in calories, bad carbohydrates, and sugar, but high in good things like vitamins and minerals your body needs, as well as fiber. They'll fill you up but won't leave you feeling like you're going to pop, or feel all squishy-fatty. I am an avid lover of the raspberry and blueberry ^.^
Three: Use the weather and the season to your advantage. By that I mean, if you've got shopping to do, don't just run, get what you wanted, and then get out. Take time. Walk around the store or the mall (avoid the food court!), use the large expanse of these buildings to get in extra cardio and leg work. It can help. If it snows outside and you've got a hill or kids, or lots of friends nearby, go outside and play! Relive you childhood, have a snowball fight, build a snowman, go sledding or tobogganing. Just bundle up and go enjoy the weather! If its too harsh out, no need to worry. Decorating (and taking decorations down) are also great ways to stay active, too, so when Dad starts taking Santa down from the roof, ask to lend a hand.
Four: Be realistic. Like I said, the average person gains 6 pounds between November and January. Its just a fact. But if you're careful with your intake, remain active, and remember that if you slip, its not the end of the world, then you can decrease that and still enjoy yourself during this season of joy and love.
And finally, my resolutions for the New Year. I've still got a lot to work on mentally and internally (soul-wise), to go with my physical changes. I need to remember not to sweat the small stuff, not to let things get me down, and to control my emotions when things don't go smoothly. I've always been an emotional person, but I need to reign them in. I'm 26, I'm not a baby anymore.
Exercise wise, per advice given from my lovely friend, I'll be doing P90X Classic, again, but I'll be adding in extra walking. In fact I intend (all my fellow fans can join in, too!) to take up Eowyn Challenge.net's Walk to Rivendell challenge. My goal for the year is to re-create the walk from Hobbiton to Rivendell, as recorded in the classic novels (and epic films) The Lord of The Rings. Now, someday I'd like to do the whole of Frodo's trek to Mt. Doom, but that is a LONG TERM goal. A goal I can manage in a year (if not less) is from Bag End's front door to Rivendell. Now, that doesn't mean I'm gonna get a stick and walk across mountains. I'll be counting the miles I do on treadmills, and (with help from my timer and step-counter on my iPod) fitness walking. Also, Especially on Recovery week or days when the gym's closed or during times I can't go to school or don't have work, I'll be incorporating in some time getting re-acquainted with my old favorite, Turbo Jam. I need to work on my moves now that I'm down to a smaller size XD.
So, that's all for now my dear friends. Thanks for sticking with me so far. Its been a long journey that I assure you won't be ending any time soon. We're still on the road to my ultimate goal, 175. I'm closer every day! We can make it! I love you all, and I hope you're all having Happy Holidays, and I wish you all a beautiful, happy, and healthy New Year.

Recommit to Fit
Well, folks, I come to you early with something I wanted to share. I noticed lately my eating habits had actually gone quite lax in comparison to how I was eating last year. Granted, I've lost nearly 200 pounds but I've still got around 30 pounds left to lose. Half of that's being taken care of through the exercise program, P90X, I've begun to follow. But the other half is nutrition.
So, in a pledge to recommit to being fit and healthy, this morning I wrote up and worked out a new weekly meal schedule. Each day is different, with 6 meals a day. 3 'big' meals, and 3 snacks in between, each one calculated out to be just under 1400 and 1500 calories (my new limit until I reach 175). I've included in it these three key commitments:
1. I will eat an apple at LEAST 2 times a week, 3 at most. As such I've purchased three different varieties of apples, which I will take with me to eat between breakfast and lunch on Monday, Wednesday, and possibly Friday.
2. I will cut down on the sodas. Re-discovering the taste of soda has me happy for a new variety in drink (especially since I only drink DIET sodas), but they're still full of sodium and other things. Hence, I'm going to cut down the soda consumption to one can/bottle every 2 days.
3. I WILL NOT CHEAT OR FUDGE IT. There are days I don't feel like cooking and so want like a Baby pan-pan or something else easy to grab, so I just go get it. No more. Except for Sunday, when I'll either have said pizza or a soup cup from Panera (chicken soup with veggies FTW!), I'm not going to eat out for dinner. I will cook my meals, thus ensuring I get the proper calories and portions. And while at home I won't round down if I'm 'close enough'. No more of it. None. And to keep myself honest, at home and at school, I've printed off 3 different copies, and placed them where I will not be able to ignore them.
I hope you guys will stick with me. This is honestly the home stretch. We can get this done together, folks! Do your best!! ^.^
